Cadillac Escalade 2020 + 2021
As one of the leaders in best usability in the US market; my team designed, engineered, and produced the digital experience for the Escalade models 2020 and 2021. I was leading for the interior design, working together with product planning, engineering, and upper management in collaboration with the Detroit GM team. This involved strategy integrations, stakeholder meetings, department collaboration, interior design team direction, and many negotiations on guidelines, feasibilities, safety, and usability standards throughout the projects development.
Working with 4 different time zones, and record breaking shortest production schedule, our project team not only achieved the highest quality + profit for our team, but was nominated for best usability.
Ideation Design Stage
Searching for the right ideas that express the GM spirit, and capturing the essence of the Escalade target demographic, through usability studies we were able to seamlessly transition the vehicles previous visuals with new advanced interaction patterns. These were validated in numerous training sessions to fine-tune the final look + feel.
Design Within Marketing Requirements
This is the stage where the visuals really begin to encompass what the customers voice to us in our focus groups, ensuring their safety and meeting regulations within the NHTSA guidelines.
Every final intended design must be in line with the marketing expectations and engineering manufacturing feasibility. This was done through rigorous QA sessions. Most importantly, cost and product requirements were met without compromising the intended design. In the end both client and company were pleased with the end results.
